The Football Factory: Film Poster

The film poster features a quotation from a review as a header in order to gain commercial appeal by showing critical acclaim. The key words, 'totally infectious' are in white whereas the rest of the quote is in black. The reason for having the key words in white is that 'totally infectious' is a judgement on the film, and shows the opinion of the critic responsible for the review, if people see that the critic approves of the film, the public will be more inclined to buy tickets to see the film; this is an increase in demand and will make greater revenue for Vertigo Films in the long run.

The title of the film is in white, block capitals in the centre of the poster. This immediately attracts the eye towards the film title, as the white letters contrast the red background.

Below the title of the film is the tag line, 'What else you gonna do on a saturday?' This is a reference to how working class culture and football are so heavily interlinked, the tag line relates heavily to the film's target audience, playing to the euphoric atmosphere of a football match, and how football on a saturday is an escape from the pressures of the working week.

Below this, the poster reads 'Kicking off in cinemas. May 14.' This is a football related pun used to reveal the release date of the film. Using this pun helps to link the release of the film back to one of the film's main themes.
